The Birmingham REP Theatre has launched a new conferencing and events company called Unique Venues Birmingham (UVB). They host events by combining the event spaces of both The Library of Birmingham and The REP.
The REP required a bold and compelling visual identity that worked effectively across a range of marketing media in both digital and print.
The identity was based on the elipse forms found in both the buildings of The Rep and Library creating a 'hinged' shape, like mecano, that could reconfigure in different ways to represent the diversity of spaces available. A number of differing colour ways were chosen within the branding so that specific areas of the company could define themselves eg. wedding or corporate venues. The identity needed to stand out against competition and represent a business that is creative and innovative.
